Over the Top
The Aquage team, led by VP of Creative and Aquage Co-founder Luis Alvarez, found inspiration for Over the Top - a collection with a bold kaleidoscope of color, shape and form in two equally over-the-top cities: Las Vegas and New Orleans. "Our team created Over the Top while on location for two of our Aquage Master Class Academies," Alvarez beams. "It embraces MAXIMALISM - the concept of hyper-real color, richness of texture, bold forms, and intricate details that interlace with one another to create an extremely complex and visually dynamic whole." Intel! Using Biomega products - Up All Night Volume Foam and Firm & Fabulous Hairspray, Ann Bray, Aquage's "Queen of Shape & Form," created strong, graphic, sculptured and larger-than-life hair designs for the entire Over the Top collection.
LAS VEGAS NEON GRAVEYARD
LAS VEGAS NEON GRAVEYARD "No other place characterizes 'swank' like Vegas. Our challenge was to create a fresh interpretation that was classic Las Vegas, but with a twist. What better place to do this, than the Las Vegas Neon Sign Graveyard? We chose a random vintage neon sign (Stardust marquee, circa 1958) as a point of departure, to create an image that turned up the volume with explosive color, bold shapes and pedal-to-the-metal hair." - Luis Alvarez2.
MARDI GRAS WORLD
MARDI GRAS WORLD, NewOrleans "New Orleans - especially its Mardi Gras festival - is the ultimate playground for exploring the concept of Maximalism. If Minimalism's motto is 'Less is More,' Maximalism's motto is 'More is More.' "We chose the textural and color excess of a Mardi Gras float as the background to create an image that would arrest your vision, stop you in your tracks and compel you to explore its complexity." - Alvarez3.
